The main ingredient in Zymol is Carnauba it comes from the 'Carnauba Palm' that grows in the northern parts of Brazil. Zymol waxes have a very high carnauba content in them, starting from 37% and going upto 70% compared to 3% to 5% in the other brands of car waxes that are on sale in the shops. You will notice the difference with Zymol after the first time of applying it. Carnauba really does repel water, but at the same time has the ability to retain oils, carnauba is the hardest natural wax known to man, and has very high gloss properties. It is also widely used in the cosmetics industry.

Zymol also blends coconut and banana oils with the carnauba. These natural oils are the necessary lubrication for spreading the wax, and they serve as a moisture barrier on the paint preventing it from drying out. These oils also contribute to depth of shine during the wax cure time.

Most of the competitor's waxes use harsh chemical based solvents to soften the carnauba, but these solvents can also re-enter the paint causing the paint to soften - which is not good. Remember, Zymol actually feeds your paintwork keeping that deep shine for much longer.

There are two types of Carnauba found in Zymol waxes, white & yellow, with white being the rarest and strongest type of carnauba available. Through the range, you can see that the percentage of carnauba by volume increases, as does the proportion of white against yellow.

Zymol also put a special enzyme in their waxes to assure that the carnauba does not "bond" in the container. Only when exposed to fresh air then it becomes a "wax" and then starts bonding to your car's paint surface. Carnauba acts in a unique way by swelling and closing its pores when exposed to water. It will also dramatically reduce paint oxidation by diffusing the UV and infrared radiation from the sun, which would normally dull a car's paint finish over time.

Another unique feature to Zymol is the wax container itself, which has a high-strength cap. This is designed to capture just enough air so that once the container is closed, a layer of wax will form on the surface of the Zymol ingredients creating enzyme gases.

The Neoprene O-ring first allows the enzyme gases to escape during the self-vacuuming process. This newly created seal prevents the entry of outside air due to increased external air pressure. The size, the shape, and the weight of the base were designed for ease of handling while applying the wax.
